Nice little restaurant a short distance walk from The Basilica of Sacré Coeur. We had eight people so we had reservations in advance. Service is excellent as well as the food. So many restaurants in the area and we are glad we ate here. Traditional dishes.
What a lovely, homey place for a traditional French meal. The service was beautiful, the food so delicious and as it’s a small restaurant, the ambience cost and inviting. We loved everything.
Wonderful restaurant, wonderful staff, delicious food. We had a great food experience here, we'll be back for sure.
Onion soup was delicious, carpaccio was on point. Steak and duck was as good as you can get.
Seeing the previous reviews I thought this restaurant would give me a French cuisine experience.
However, to me it was like a fast food restaurant, the waiting time was not because of the waiting time for the dish but the lack of staff.
I have ordered all 4 dishes with a star next to it. However they were all just normal. We waited 10 mins for the creme brulee but it turned out to be a supermarket standard.
Today is my daughter's birthday, I spent EUR92.5 2 adults with one kid. I spent EUR110 yesterday lunch really had something with good French quality. Didn't imagine I paid that big portion of money eating the location.
I have no idea why with the standard I had to reserve my table with a EUR45 guarantee from my card.
The food was amazing and even if the restaurant was full we didn’t wait much. Compared to other places in Paris where they serve awful meals for high prices, the price was absolutely right for the great food we had. Only negative point is that the location it’s way tooooooo small! Also, the guy taking care of service at the table (probably the owner) looked a bit nervous which made us feel a bit uncomfy but maybe was just a day no and we are all humans :)
The veal marango was expertly stewed, retaining the delightful sweetness of the carrots without being overcooked. We absolutely adored the escargot prepared in the Pol Pot style, so much so that we used bread to savor every last drop. The French onion soup was undeniably delicious, and while the burnt croutons introduced a smoky note, their bitterness was a minor disappointment. Perhaps it's a deliberate touch to enhance the soup's flavor. The duck confit was nicely cooked and I truly love the taste of the fries and the generous serving of salad on the side. Our overall experience was exceptional, leaving us eager to return on our next trip to Paris.
Was recommended this bistro by our hotel. It's advisable to book ahead as it's around the corner from a very busy square in the charming Montmartre. The food is delightful and the waiting staff are so friendly and helpful. It is cosy as you would expect in Paris, so do expect to be dining with another couple! But it enhances the atmosphere of a little gem of a place 😊
This is a little gem of Paris. Definitely our highlight meal in Paris.
Their house red pinot noir was the perfect wash down after my Boeuf Bourguignon. However, every dish they recommended on Nos Specialites board are very good.
Special mention to the best Escargots we ever had in France, also the perfect Creme Brulee.
Staffs are incredibly friendly to everyone.
Had a lovely lunch and would definitely recommend this place to friends visiting Paris and wanting to try French food.
Lovely location in Montmartre. Small restaurant so I would recommend to book it. Staff is very friendly and helpful in explaining what meals are like.
It was three of us and we shared two starters (escargots and onion soup) and got a main each (the beef in butter and two ducks) and all really liked the food and felt super full by the end of the meal - the portions are very generous.
The food was very tasty and was well presented too.
My first meal in Paris and it was lovely. Went all in with French staples of escargot, onion soup, and boeuf bourguignon, all delicious. Service was great and waiter was very friendly. Thank you!
Great restaurant, as people have mentioned its right up the top of a hill so lots of steps, but it's worth the hike!
Food was amazing, but personally I'm not used to being so close to others while eating 😅 they cram in lots of seats, so be prepared to hear other people's conversations as you are so close to others. Beer was expensive,
Definitely a " Marmite " experience.
Excellent dinner spot! So glad we chose this for our last dinner in Paris on our honeymoon. We had the duck confit and the beef (with onion soup and escargot as starters) and everything was delicious. Service was kind and efficient too. Would highly recommend, remember to make a reservation in advance because it gets pretty busy!
I went without reservation and the staff was really friendly to accommodate me. The food was really good. It’s a cozy place amongst many touristic restaurants
Worth the visit! This is a cozy authentic restaurant and my favorite meal when visiting Paris! The service was great and the food was amazing. I can’t wait to come back!!
Food was delicious! Staff was very friendly and had a great vibe! They were speaking English so this helped a lot! We were not expecting to find such a good restaurant in a very touristic area but they impressed us! I would definitely recommend it!
Visited the delightful restaurant with my husband and son during a short visit to Paris. We had the most delicious meal here, the food and atmosphere is simply incredible! La Poulbot is a small, bijou restaurant with the most beautiful ambiance, so cosy and comfortable. The staff are beautifully friendly and speak both English & French. We had a wonderful evening and we will most definitely be returning in the near future. I would advise visitors to reserve a table in advance, it’s a busy restaurant and you don’t want to miss out on a meal here.
Le Poulbot is a fantastic family restaurant run by wonderful people who make excellent and interesting food. Everyone working there was very friendly. The French onion soup was great - Americans used to denser soups with a thick layer of cheese on top should be aware that it’s a more delicate (but to be clear, quite wonderful!) presentation. The escargot was presented under sort of a salad in cream sauce, rather than the traditional garlic and butter in shells. To me, the confit duck was the true standout - I’m not sure I’ve ever tasted better seasoning, and the cook was perfect. The owner was nice enough to arrange for our return taxi at the end of our meal. Would gladly return again and again to this corner restaurant, for both the food and the friendly staff. Many thanks!
Great I intimate setting. Our server and bar tender were friendly and accommodating. Our food was hot and well prepared. We didn’t care for the bread loaf but the salad they put together special for us was very good. I would absolutely dine here again.
So getting there wear comfortable shoes when another review said its up a hill I did not expect all the steps.
A small little gem hidden away with very friendly helpful staff.
A cosy atmosphere and very traditional close seats to fit everyone in.
The food was to be found on the qr coded block on the table.
It was easy to order and arrived quickly.
The beef stake and fries was delicious. I had the sea bass which came on vegetables and had a sweet sauce it was fantastic.
Followed by a chocolate fondue with an added candle as it was my birthday was a lovely gesture.
Super surprised that I could find such a good restaurant in a touristic place!
The onion soup is a must-order!
The wine (Chardonnay) we ordered was with their label, we loved it as well.
The duck legs were a bit dry on the outside but flavored well, and the bass fillet was pretty good.
And the last, the brulee, not too sweet and we loved it!
